THE COMIC BOOK SHOP HISTORY

The Comic Book Shop opened 1 July 1988 in a 640sf location two blocks from our current store. We moved 3 doors down in the same strip mall a couple of years later which increased our size to 1,400sf. In 2000 we moved a block away to a 3,600sf spot where we stayed for 4 years.

While the main store perculated along through the Batman movies and pogs and a brief stint in baseball cards, we had stores in north Spokane and in Spokane valley operating from 1989 through 1998. We also had a warehouse that was open to the public with a back issue selection that by its end had reached almost 500,000 back issue comics.

In 2006 we opened a small store in Northtown Mall to see how our version of a comic book store would work in a mall setting. It worked.

If you're coming off I-90, take the Division street exit and continue heading North. After the bridge Division splits into two one way steets, you'll automatically be on Ruby Street. The first light is Sharp, the street after that is Sinto, you'll want to take a left there. You'll quickly hit Division heading back south. We are directly across Division on the corner of Divsion and Sinto, right next door to the Pizza Pipeline.
